Pomfret Fish Fry

Fishes are rich source of essential fatty acids (omega-3 fatty acids)and minerals. Nutritionist advice fishes in diet mainly for pregnant women. Pomfret fishes are high in fat content, provides calcium, vitamins A and D, and including Vitamin B12. Increased Vitamin B12 makes it important for the nervous system. It also contains good amount of iodine, critical for the thyroid gland. Thus Pomfret is good for eyesight and healthy hair and skin. It helps in maintaining cardiovascular health too.

1. Chilli Powder – 2 tbsp

2. Turmeric Powder – 1 tsp

3. Coriander Powder – 1 tsp

4. Salt as required

5. GG Paste – 1tsp

6. Curry Leaves finely chopped

7. Coconut Oil – 1 tbsp

8. Lemon Juice – 2 tbsp

9. Fish – 6 cut pieces

10. Coconut Oil to grease grill pan


1. Add Chilli, Turmeric, Coriander powder, salt, GG paste, curry leaves, coconut oil and lemon juice in a bowl and mix together to form a thick paste.

2. Apply this paste all over the Pomfret fish and allow it to marinate.

3. Grease the Grill pan with coconut oil and place the marinated fish on it.

4. Add some coconut on the fish while turning.

5. Cook each side for about 4-5 minutes in a low-medium flame, till the fish is nicely roast on both sides
